Jumping into the cold water? Not at Rychiger! As a young person in training, you will never be left to your own devices. During your entire apprenticeship, you will be supported and assisted by other staff members so you can tackle even challenging tasks with confidence. As we want to develop all your abilities and talents, we make sure that you are assigned a great variety of tasks.

We expect our trainees to take responsibility from an early stage in their apprenticeship. You will therefore have the chance to work independently and to cooperate with others in multidisciplinary projects. Apart from attending our internal events, our apprentices will be asked to help organize special events such as the international future day, and to participate in the "Industrienacht", a national fun event promoting careers in industry.

Support where and when you need it

We make sure that nobody is left behind, and are therefore dedicated to assisting and supporting our apprentices throughout their training. At regular progress meetings we set and revise your goals together with you, and give you honest feedback. Every six months, we compile a personal training report and meet with you to discuss your tasks, performance and ambitions.

Everything you learn at Rychiger will stand you in good stead for your entire working life. Our apprentices are given the opportunity to attend the local technical college known as Berufsmittelschule or BMS to acquire a certificate that will permit them to subsequently complete a third-level college course in their professional field. As we believe that social skills are important, we also encourage our trainees to put themselves forward for a four-week social internship at SILEA Thun, a home and workplace for people with disabilities.

We care about your welfare

In line with our social commitment, corporate values and principles of management, we care about the welfare and personal development of our apprentices. This includes of course appropriate breaks and free time. During their first year at Rychiger, all our trainees have seven weeks of paid holidays. During their second year, they have six weeks, and five weeks during their third year.

Every year, we organize a ski week at beautiful Belalp for our apprentices and their supervisors so they can spend some time together on the slopes, staying in a holiday home right at the piste – all paid for by Rychiger.
